Frequently Asked Questions
How are multi-day events grouped?
Always by their start date, taken in the event's own timezone as written in the file. An event running from Sunday to Tuesday goes into the week, month and day file of the Sunday it starts on — it is never duplicated across periods or cut in half, and everyone splitting the same file gets identical results.
How are recurring events handled?
A recurring event is kept as one event (with its recurrence rule intact) and is grouped by its first start date. The series is never broken apart into individual occurrences.
What about events without a date?
Events lacking a start date are collected into a separate "undated" file so nothing is lost during the split.
Is my calendar data uploaded anywhere?
No. Splitting and ZIP creation happen entirely in your browser — your file never leaves your device.
How are weeks numbered?
Using the ISO 8601 standard: weeks run Monday to Sunday and files are named like 2025-W28. Days around New Year belong to the ISO week-numbering year, so the grouping matches what most calendar apps and planners display.
Can I split very large files?
Yes — files with thousands of events work fine. The preview shows how many output files will be created before you start.
